The ANO Office of Marriage and Family Life is sponsoring a Pastoral Ministries Social to discuss Authentic Catholic Accompaniment. The event will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Slidell, 910 Cross Gates Blvd, Slidell, LA 70461 6:30 PM : Wine, Beer, and Appetizer Social 7:00 – 8:30 PM : Presentation and Discussion “Accompaniment” is not just a buzzword in ministry today; it’s the hope of the Church. But walking with people in the midst of their joys and sorrows and helping them see where God is present in those moments is not easy. The Office of Marriage and Family Life invites all ministry leaders in the Archdiocese (Priest, Deacons, Marriage and Family Life ministry leaders, DRE’s, Catechists, Teachers, and anyone involved in any Pastoral Ministry) to a night of networking, conversation, and support in their work of authentic pastoral accompaniment. Chris O’Neill, the Director of the ANO Office of Marriage and Family Life, and Ann Koshute, Professor of Theology and founder of Springs in the Desert, will discuss how careful attention to the teachings of the Church united with compassionate listening and deep empathy to people facing complex, delicate, and difficult real-world life experiences is the path we are all called to walk. Come hear how lessons learned from ministry to those facing infertility provides a “case study” in pastoral accompaniment for ministry leaders engaged in all areas of pastoral ministry.
